Chapter 06

The 90-day cycle

What happens to fees nobody claims: buyback, burn, and a fresh clock.

Unclaimed fees do not sit forever.

The rule

For every coin, a 90-day clock starts at launch. If the coin's person is still unbound when the clock runs out and the coin has unclaimed fees, anyone may call sweep: the escrow redeems the person's ledger, buys the coin back through the Router, and burns what it bought. The clock resets to the moment of the sweep.

  • A bound person is never swept - sweep reverts with PersonIsBound.
  • A sweep never happens earlier than 90 days after the previous cycle start - NotDue otherwise.
  • Sweeping is permissionless; the keeper does it every 15 minutes, but any wallet can press "Sweep now" on the coin page.

Why

Fans should not be able to lock a stranger's money away for good, and a coin whose person never shows up should still return value to its holders. The buyback and burn does exactly that: the person's share becomes scarcity for everyone holding the coin.

Claiming resets nothing

Once bound, the cycle is irrelevant: fees accrue until the person claims them, however long that takes.
